WHO WE ARE

Bensons Sporthorses is a boutique sporthorse stud situated in the Darling Downs Estate, Western Australia. 

Peter Benson and the late Liz Benson began the stud in 2009. Their experience and expertise in researching the genetic lines of both Australian and European bloodlines has enabled them to produce numerous distinguished horses that are now competing at elite levels..

Bensons Sporthorses’ goal has always been to breed horses suitable for both amateur and professional riders.  We strive to produce progeny with great temperament, conformation, and excellent scope.

Our base mares have the influence of Warmblood, Thoroughbred and Cleveland Bay. Our primary stallions are from the breed registries of Selle Francais, Holsteiner, Hanoverian, KWPN and BWP.

We have bred our first stallion, Bensons Quicksilver, who is now standing at stud and now competing at the 1.20 m level as a 6 year old. His first filly, out of Bensons Cat Balou, a daughter from one of our Foundation mares has been retained in the stud.

Frozen and fresh semen is available.

Our clients have come from around Australia to purchase from Bensons Sporthorses and it is with great pride that we watch and hear of their successes across the country.
